Dawlish Horse Show has been running annually since 1930`s, stopping for the war years and recommencing in approx 1943. The show was originally known as Dawlish Victory Horse Show and Gymkhana and was run in aid of the County Agricultural Red Cross Fund and was held on the local playing fields.

In the 1940`s the committee was made up of local farmers and business men, the president being Mr Peter W Hoare of Luscombe Estate and vice president Mrs Ralph Rayner.

Programme of events included the usual hack or hunter and children?s pony classes, along with Best Agricultural Horse & Mare, driving classes and gymkhana events. Classes were 3s each class and late entries an additional  1s.

The show is now held at Black Forest Farm, Mamhead, by kind permision of Mrs A Yandle and Mr T Yandle and is run in aid of the St Johns Amublance and Dawlish Scout Group, with out who?s help, we would not be able to run the show.

The show could not also go ahead if it was not for a dedicated committee which is made up of local volunteers, some of the members have been on the committee for many years, and we are always looking for new members.

Dawlish Horse Show is ran for charity and we are always looking for support from local businesses.

We hope that everyone who attends the show has a very enjoyable day with us and that they appreciate all the hard work that goes into the organizing and setting up of the show.
